1000 pieces in 10 days

Image
In case you were wondering what I have been doing lately, here's part of the answer. Not only was there a lot of reading material on a recent transatlantic flight , but also this puzzle (Ravensburger No 16 726 5, "Danzig"). Didn't look too hard, so I started it on the living room table last week. The house fronts were fairly easy once I zeroed in on colors and window styles. Filling in the roofs and surroundings was an exercise in occasional frustration. However, with persistence and patience I eventually finished it. It was a slow-going slog for most of the time, except today. The last 100 pieces almost placed themselves.

Shelter in Place Puzzle: That was quick

We're done. Much faster than I expected, and I didn't do what I had planned for today. That's ok. I had fun.

Shelter in Place Puzzle: Lisbon

We're stuck at home and in the mood for a puzzle. This one is extra fun, because it's a nice reminder of last year's vacation. Just in time for dinner the frame is set up, and the easy motives become visible.

Nurnberg Puzzle: Reflection

Image
[ Puzzle posts ] I forgot to take a picture yesterday, but I hadn't touched the puzzle much Friday and Saturday. Today it just rolled nicely. I started with the sunlit reflection of house and tower, bounced around the trees on the right for a while, flip-flopping with the trees and reflection on the left, then filled in the darker areas in the water until I had no dark tiles left.

Christmas Puzzle: Challenge Accepted

Image
"Wow. You're almost done... You can finish this before the end of the year, right?" ..., said my lovely wife in the evening. Challenge accepted! It is now one hour past midnight on the morning of December 31st, and I'm indeed done with the puzzle. For those of you getting bored and tired of me posting puzzle progress over the last few days, rest assured this will likely be the last puzzle related post for a while, and we'll soon return to our regularly scheduled programming.

Christmas Puzzle: Out in the Woods

I filled in some more sky, and then turned my attention to the hills over the trains. It's coming together now.

Christmas Puzzle: Trains on Ice and Snow

I made pretty good progress today, about one third done. The snow is now spotless. If I keep going at this rate, I will finish the puzzle before the end of the week.
